The pull
Vrindavan is not a market built on office demand or a new highway alone. It is built on a pilgrimage that has run for centuries, and on a visitor base that keeps widening.
Vrindavan's most beloved shrine, home to the deity of Banke Bihari.
A white marble temple celebrating divine love, lit every evening.
Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir, a global centre of devotion.
Dedicated to Radha in Barsana, her birthplace.
Sacred twin ponds associated with the pastimes of Radha and Krishna.
The hill Lord Krishna is revered as having lifted to protect the people of Braj.
Visitors
Figures below are drawn from published tourism estimates and press reporting on the Braj region.
After the NCR, the largest domestic shares come from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Among international pilgrims the United States leads, followed by Europe, Russia and Brazil.
National and global hospitality brands have entered the market, including Vivanta, Sarovar Portico, Best Western, Country Inn and Radisson, with Hilton, Hyatt, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn and IHCL reported as upcoming. That shift is the clearest signal that Vrindavan is moving from short visits to stay-led demand.
